My first thought is this: You can take the
Charlie Sheen out of the
Two and a Half Men, but if you take away that kind of unique wit, and try to replace it with a substitute, it may be like replacing
Suzanne Somers (
on Three's Company), with
Jenilee Harrison. The character may be a part of similar dynamics in the show, and allow the show to carry-on -- however, the primary association of the actor playing the original character will (undoubtedly) be greatly missed by many. The program may seem to the viewers, that something is (obviously) missing.
Hopefully,
Two and a Half Men will have many successful years with
Aston Kutcher, and he will add to the show in many positive ways. Perhaps, we can see how well (back-in-the-day) we (as viewers of Bewitched), adjusted to Dick York being replaced by Dick Sargent (as the part of Darrin); and apply the same kind of openmindedness, that we did back in the days of
Bewitched.
